Orchestra Omaha Music Director! Welcome to this, our ninth season of programs at Orchestra Omaha! This season is one featuring great warhorses from the standard orchestral repertoire: from Wagner and Brahms to Stravinsky and Sibelius, there’s sure to be something for everyone on each concert. This season, we are presenting several of the area’s premier artists in concert with the orchestra. Mezzo soprano Wendy Eaton opens the year with Brahms’ Four Serious Songs, followed by pianist Milvia Rodriguez in Liszt’s manic showpiece Totentanz. We feature our Young Artist Competition winner in February and round out the season with Ruth Meints and William Wolcott from the Omaha Conservatory in the Concerto for Two Violins by Holst. In addition to great repertoire and solo artists, Orchestra Omaha is also excited to move into several new concert venues for the 2007-2008 season. We will present programs at the West Campus of the Lutheran Church of the Master in West Omaha, St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Papillion and First Methodist Church in Mid-Town. As always, we count on your support for the arts in Greater Omaha. Without your financial support and concert attendance, our music cannot hope to have the same impact. Thank you for making Orchestra Omaha Omaha’s Community Orchestra! Bravissimo! Ken |
