Orchestra Omaha holds a Youth Concerto Competition during the fall of each concert season. The competition is open to all wind, brass, string, percussion, piano and voice students who reside in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. Students age 9-13 (grades 4-8) compete in the Junior Division, while students age 14 and up (grades 9-12) compete in the Senior Division. Voice students may only compete in the Senior Division.

The winner in each division will be awarded a solo opportunity on a concert during the 2011-2012 season, along with a $200 cash prize. Applications for the 6th Annual Competition are now being accepted. All applications must be postmarked by October 20, 2011 to receive consideration.
